We recommend that you bring the following for the "Springtime in Sedona" camping trip. Please be aware that we have limited space, so try to only pack what you need for the 5-night trip.
Boynton Canyon is a popular destination located in the heart of Sedona, Arizona. The canyon is renowned for its stunning red rock formations, peaceful atmosphere, and mystical energy. However, what sets Boynton Canyon apart from other canyons in the region is the vortex that exists there. This vortex is a powerful energy center that attracts visitors from all over the world.
The history of the vortex at Boynton Canyon dates back to ancient times. The Native American Yavapai-Apache tribe believed that the canyon was a sacred site where they could connect with the spirit world. They would come to the canyon to perform rituals, meditate, and seek guidance from their ancestors. The Yavapai-Apache tribe believed that the vortex at Boynton Canyon was a portal to the spiritual realm, where they could communicate with the gods and goddesses. Over time, the vortex at Boynton Canyon has become one of the most popular spiritual destinations in the world. Thousands of people visit the canyon every year, seeking to tap into the energy that exists there. Some people come to meditate, while others come to perform healing ceremonies or simply to soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Regardless of their reason for visiting, most people leave feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and spiritually uplifted. 5th Dimension Tours will be visiting Sedona this month and will have the opportunity to hike along the canyon's trails. The trail winds through some of the most stunning red rock formations in the region, providing breathtaking views of the canyon and the surrounding landscape. Visitors often report feeling a profound sense of connection to the earth, the universe, and themselves. On April 22nd, during 5th Dimension Tours' inaugural journey to Valley of Fires, Sedona and Chaco Canyon, we'll get the rare and amazing opportunity to view an annual meteor shower from an International Dark-Sky Park! Chaco Culture National Park, our third stop on the tour, was awarded Gold-tier level distinction by the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA), by designating over 99% of the park as a "natural darkness zone". Chaco rates as one of the best places in the country to experience and enjoy natural darkness. The Lyrid meteor shower is predicted to reach its maximum, right around sunset on the day of our arrival, and will continue to produce up to 20 meteors an hour throughout the night. We'll have good visibility as it begins to gets dark around 9:30pm (astronomical twilight), when the sun reaches 18-degrees below the horizon. Around 11:00pm we'll be under the darkest sky, when the waxing crescent moon sets over the western horizon. Lyra - the constellation from which the meteors appear to originate from - will be just rising over the northeastern horizon.

Ancient remains found over a century ago in a lavish crypt in Chaco Canyon, considered to be "the richest burial known in the Southwest", has shown new evidence of a matriarchal dynasty. Found in Room 33 in Pueblo Bonito, these remains were accompanied by turquoise jewelry, shell beads, pendants, musical instruments and pottery, and spanned 330 years. In 2017, mitochondrial DNA sequencing showed that they were all directly related and all were traced to one maternal ancestor. This is evidence of a ruling or elite class, where power and privilege is passed down from mother to daughter.
